The problem. People with injuries want timely, effective, and easily accessible physical therapy so that they can work toward recovery and live with less pain. Physical therapists want to build personalized treatment plans, track progress, and help all patients that seek their care — including those unable to travel to an on-site treatment facility.
How does this product solve it? Movemint is a virtual healthcare web app that enables patients and physical therapists to find each other, book sessions, and connect for personalized physical therapy treatment. It’s a win-win for both patients and providers. Patients benefit from in-app messaging, treatment assignments, recovery tracking, and secure, private 1:1 sessions from the comfort of home. Physical therapists can build treatment plans, assign exercises, track patient progress, and easily make adjustments as needed without having to wait for the next session. Key features include a physical therapist treatment planner and a patient home exercise and progress tracking portal.
My role in it. I was the design lead on Movemint’s MVP as a member of Platform Venture Studio’s product team. In collaboration with the founder, Chief Design/Product Officer, and engineering team, we embraced a fast development and early release approach to gain insights for iteration and next steps. I designed a simple UI kit and component library to support dynamic UI/UX design and facilitate a smooth transition to rapid low-code development.
A bit about the visuals. People coming to Movemint are in pain and seek relief. I used a cool palette of soft greens and blues to communicate that Movemint is place that will ‘cool the pain.’ Leaf shaped design elements (and of course the greens in the palette) play on the ‘mint’ in Movemint’s name. Generous negative space provides focus and clarity to lighten the cognitive load — no one in pain wants to navigate a crowded layout! For typography, I used a clean, friendly sans serif typeface (Manrope) with a range of fonts to create visual hierarchy.
The tools I used. Figma.
My employer. I worked on this project for Platform Venture Studio; Chief Design/Product Officer, Lissette Arias.
