LongFellows Farm sits on 80 acres of North Carolina land and includes hiking trails, farm ponds, an organic tobacco farm, and the historic Morgan, Carter, Carver House built in 1863. Newly acquired by the Long brothers, Jim and Bill, it will soon also be a destination spot for nature immersion, relaxation, and outdoor fun!
Lifelong Californians, the Long brothers’ passions include many of the activities the state is known for including surfing, sailing, mountain biking, camping, and more. They also, however, have deep roots in farming with a family history going back generations. Their childhood memories are filled with trips to the family farm in Maryland where they picked fresh produce, fished from farm ponds, and explored the land from dawn to dusk. Called back to their farming roots back east, the Long brothers endeavored to create LongFellows Farm to both enjoy themselves, as well as build a small business that welcomes visitors for day trips, camping, and special events.
A bit about the visuals. I drew inspiration from the brothers’ California history and sought to create a mark that juxtaposed their west coast style with their love of farm life. I wanted the mark to feel just as at home on a surfboard decal, hoodie, and baseball hat, as it does on farm signage, branded picnic blankets, and work apparel. The final logo is a word mark composed of bespoke lettering.
